The MetroHealth System, founded in 1837, serves the residents of the city of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County. As one of the three major healthcare systems in Cleveland, Ohio, alongside Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals of Cleveland, MetroHealth plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive medical care. The system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments, and more than 20 health centers and 40 additional sites throughout Cuyahoga County. Notably, MetroHealth is home to a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center and the state’s only adult and pediatric trauma and burn center. With a commitment to serving the community, MetroHealth serves over 300,000 patients, two-thirds of whom are uninsured or covered by Medicare or Medicaid.
