Greenville, Ohio

Greenville is a city in and the county seat of Darke County, Ohio. It is located near Ohio's western edge, about 33 miles northwest of Dayton with a population of approximately 12,786.

Greenville is known for its history, being the site of Fort Greene Ville, built in November 1793 by General Anthony Wayne's Legion of the United States during the Northwest Indian War.

Greenville is also known as the hometown of Annie Oakley, the famous sharpshooter who performed with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. The Garst Museum & The Annie Oakley Center is located in Greenville and houses a large collection of Annie Oakley memorabilia.

Other points of interest in Greenville include the Greenville Public Library, the Darke County Historical Society Museum, and the Greenville Opera House. The city is also home to several parks and trails, including the Greenville Reservoir and the Greenville Bike Trail.
