Carlisle, Ohio

Carlisle is a city in northwestern Warren and southern Montgomery counties in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. It is situated along the Great Miami River, approximately 15 miles (24 km) northwest of Dayton. The population was 5,569 at the 2020 census.

The city was founded in 1816 by David Carlisle and was incorporated in 1832. Carlisle was originally a farming community, but it began to grow in the early 20th century with the arrival of the railroad. The city's economy is now based on manufacturing, retail, and healthcare.

Carlisle is home to several historical sites, including the Carlisle Historic District, the Carlisle Covered Bridge, and the Carlisle Railroad Depot. The city is also home to a number of parks and recreation facilities, including Carlisle City Park, Carlisle Pool and the Carlisle Sports Complex.
