New Carlisle, Ohio

New Carlisle is a city in Clark County, Ohio with a population of approximately 5,700.

New Carlisle was originally called Monroe, and under the latter name was laid out in 1810. The present name is a transfer from Carlisle, Pennsylvania, the birthplace of some of the first settlers. A post office called New Carlisle has been in operation since 1828. New Carlisle was incorporated as a village in 1831.

The city is located at the intersection of State Routes 235 and 571, about 15 miles west of Dayton. It is home to a variety of businesses, including manufacturing, retail, and healthcare. New Carlisle also has a number of parks and recreation facilities, including Smith Park, which features a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a playground and Clark State Community College New Carlisle Campus.
