Oakwood, Ohio

Oakwood is a city in Montgomery County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,202 at the 2010 census.

Oakwood was incorporated in 1908. John Henry Patterson, industrialist and founder of the National Cash Register Corporation, is considered the "Father of Oakwood." Patterson was a major landowner in the area and donated land for the construction of schools, churches, and parks.

​The city has a strong sense of community and is home to a variety of businesses, restaurants, and shops. Oakwood is also home to a number of parks and recreation facilities, including the Oakwood Nature Preserve, the Oakwood Community Center, and the Oakwood Park District.
