Trotwood, Ohio

Trotwood is a city in Montgomery County, Ohio and is a suburb of Dayton. The population was 24,431 at the 2010 census.

Trotwood was founded in 1848 by a group of settlers from New York and Pennsylvania. The city was named for the Trott family, who were early settlers in the area. Trotwood was originally a farming community, but it began to grow rapidly in the early 20th century. The city was home to a number of factories and industries.

Trotwood experienced a decline in the mid-20th century, as many of its factories closed and its population declined. However, the city has begun to rebound in recent years, and it is now home to a number of new businesses and industries. Trotwood is also home to a number of cultural attractions, including the Trotwood-Madison Cultural Arts Center and the Trotwood-Madison Public Library.
